NAB2017: DJI Offers Up Ronin 2, Keeps It’s Secrets for Now.

DJI is keeping us hanging.  For now.

The lead up to NAB2017 had drone enthusiasts thinking that we would definitely see a new offering.  Maybe we would see a Mavic Mini, called the Spark, or finally the DJI Goggles would become a reality.

Instead, DJI stuck to the theme of the show and the script was all about the professional gear:  An upgraded Ronin camera rig called Ronin 2.

Ronin 2 exists to let filmmakers capture the scene they see in their mind.  Upgraded high torque motors allow ti to support a wider range of cameras, resist high winds and G-forces caused when mounted to a car and keep it moving smoothly in flight.

A newly designed detachable Grip allows Ronin 2 to stand up on its own and is easily separated when the lower part of the hand grip is not needed.  Ronin 2 is also highly compatible with cable cams, drones, cranes, Steadicams, and more.

The simplicity of Ronin has been amplified with Ronin 2, making setup and use esier than ever.  Everything, from mounting cameras to balancing and tuning, powering accessories and transportation has been tweaked and refined for ease and speed.

Enhanced intelligence means filmmakers can get shots wiht Ronin 2 that would once have needed specialist expertise or additional equipment, from total smoothness control to studio-oriented smart features.

While we thought the time was right for DJI to release some exciting new Consumer products that have been leaking over the winter, it turns out that this venue was not the right place for that.  So looking ahead, it means there is more exciting news yet to come from DJI this Spring…and we can’t wait.
