While everyone waits for their shipping notification from DJI or the arrival of their Spark package, some pilots are planning to fly the DJI Spark with their iPad Mini 2, 3 or 4 with the Spark remote control. This is a common setup for Mavic users who also prefer the larger screen compared to a smartphone.
The Mavic remote control has gaps in the fold out arms that allow an iPad Mini to nestle in snugly.
Unfortunately, the Spark remote control doesn’t have these gaps and an iPad Mini feels a little awkward in the controller arms.
Don’t get me wrong, the iPad mini fits fine in the Spark controller. I just don’t like how it feels in the controller. It looks like it could slip out at any second.
